Hello Nostalgia Manila!
I was born in 1985 and don't remember much before the 90's but I love your site! Especially when you featured Bagets because I love that movie....hahaha! When I read through your site's articles and entries it's like I'm looking at old photo albums in my grandparents' house... an activity I enjoy very much!

Anyway here is a picture of me as a baby circa mid-80's...that's my mom in the photo. The bandana on my forehead says "I heart Ninoy".

This photo was taken right next to the T-shirt Iron-on Station counter, (where you would choose an Iron-on design to be hot-pressed onto your shirt), and right next to that would be the Big Weighing Scale. This is an amazing photo, as it perfectly captures how most people remember Unimart in '70s Greenhills.

That's my brother TJ on the left, I'm the kid on the far right. The rest of the kids are my cousins. The one wearing red is my mom and on the left is my grandpa. The other women in the photo are my aunties.

Boracay in the early 80's. Back then there were only a few nipa house cottages here and there in the island. There was no electricity and we only depended on gas lamps at night time. And during the night you could hear curious insect sounds as well as sounds that my grandparents would attribute to the "aswang". Boracay was known then as a "virgin island" since at that time there were only a handful of people who knew about the island and most of them were from Aklan. I remember the first time I set foot on the island, I just marveled at the sand. It was white as snow! And the water itself was clear as tap water that I could see the fishes right through it! Well..that was the 80's. Now, whenever I hear somebody exclaim how beautiful Boracay is I can only reminisce and say to myself…the Boracay I know is now long gone... buried under commercialization.

"This is where we used to shop during those days, when malls and big department stores that houses several movie houses was not yet the norm. There was Ever Emporium, C.O.D. and Alemar’s Bookstore to name a few. Ahh, and the movie theatres..Roxan, Avenue, Lords, Jennet and Galaxy theatres. I remember I was in my high school uniform,skipping classes, and along with my cousin Nancy,would watched movies after movies. Can’t help feeling sentimental. Can’t help feeling nostalgic."
